Rubén Plasencia (El Sauzal, Tenerife, 1986) is a photographer whose work focuses on people and social themes. Through his images, he seeks to intensify the gaze and reveal the essence of each individual. His personal work has been recognized and exhibited at festivals such as Circulation(s) (Paris), Le Voyage à Nantes (Nantes), and PhotoEspaña (Madrid). In 2015, he was selected for an artist residency at Le Centquatre-Paris with his project Obscure, which was also highlighted at the Sony World Photography Awards 2014.

He has collaborated with international media including Libération, The Guardian, BBC, and Die Zeit, as well as with brands and institutions such as Mahou, Fundación la Caixa, Fundación ONCE, Adidas Terrex, and Nike Wild Trail. He currently lives in Tenerife and works internationally.
