Rubén Guedes Caballero (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 2001) holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna and master’s degrees in Audiovisual and Literary Culture and in Teacher Training. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies, focusing his research on gender issues from a local and situated perspective.

In line with this research, his work develops through a multidisciplinary approach that includes installation, performance, video, photography, and painting. His production positions itself from the margins and from dissidence, aiming to make visible queer/cuir identities and spaces that challenge dominant heteronormativity. In recent years, his work has evolved towards approaches that connect Canarian identity with memory and everyday processes of reconstruction, engaging with the vernacular as a site of resistance and contemporary re-reading.
