Acosta
Rubén Acosta (San Bartolomé, Lanzarote, 1976) is a photographer, editor, and cultural manager. He holds a degree in Audiovisual Communication from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Master’s in Photography from EFTI School, and a Master’s in Cultural Engineering from the European University of Madrid (2011). He has exhibited regularly since 2002 and has received awards including the Acciona Award, the ENAIRE Second Prize, and the Septenio First Prize in 2011, among others. His work is part of collections such as the Coca-Cola Foundation, Centro de Arte Dos de Mayo, CAAM, TEA, and the Government of the Canary Islands.
Alongside his photographic practice, he works in book publishing. In 2012, he founded Ediciones Remotas, a publishing house through which he has produced more than seventy publications focused on the environmental and cultural heritage of the Canary Islands. He also works as an independent editor for public institutions and private organisations.
