Román Hernández González (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife, 1963) is a sculptor, holds a PhD in Fine Arts, and is Associate Professor of Sculpture at the University of La Laguna. His artistic practice, centred on sculpture and installation, explores the relationships between memory, object, space, and iconography, constructing a body of work with a strong poetic and critical dimension.

Throughout his career, he has maintained an active exhibition practice, presenting work in solo and group exhibitions, art fairs, and international projects. His work is held in both public and private collections. He has also participated in conferences, symposia, and academic publications, combining artistic practice with scholarly research. Among his best-known works is Aquí te doy otra regla para el arte de la escultura (1998), reproduced on the cover of a publication by Vervuert Verlag (Frankfurt am Main). He currently combines his artistic practice with directing Desván Blanco Espacio Cultural.
