Raúl Artiles (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 1985) is a visual artist and researcher specializing in contemporary drawing and expanded practices. His work explores the tensions between tourism, identity and collective memory, examining how images of leisure and the spectacularization of the landscape construct cultural and emotional narratives.

Working with large-scale charcoal and graphite drawings, installations and immersive visual devices, he develops a critical cartography of tourist imaginaries and their aesthetics, questioning the relationship between reality and representation in the society of the spectacle. His work has been shown at institutions such as CAAM, TEA Tenerife, Drawing Room Lisboa and CAB Burgos. He is currently pursuing a PhD at the University of La Laguna, where he investigates drawing as a tool for thought in response to the iconography of mass tourism.
