Pedro Lezcano Jaén (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 1970) is a painter and sculptor. His work focuses on the creation of objects that appear useless or dysfunctional, yet are charged with strong symbolic power. Through painting, drawing, sculpture, assemblage, collage, and other techniques, he gives form to imprecise ideas that are difficult to express through other means.

Pedro understands making by hand as a form of thinking, and seeks for his works to “transcend time, in the same way an inherited stool or a family painting might.” His practice explores concepts such as matter, memory, time, flesh, and family bonds. He has taken part in numerous exhibitions and has received various distinctions throughout his career.
