Oumaima Manchit Laroussi (Boujdour, Western Sahara, 2001) is an artist and researcher. She moved to Lanzarote during her childhood and currently lives in Tenerife, where she is pursuing a thesis in Arts and Humanities. Her work lies at the intersection of language, memory, and resistance, exploring the construction of memory in Bedouin communities across the Global South, where oral tradition has long been the primary means of transmitting knowledge.

Within these contexts, shaped by coloniality and the forced reconfiguration of ways of life, her research focuses on archival collection and documenting forms of knowledge that have resisted the imposition of the written word as the sole legitimate form of historical validation. She has participated in exhibitions and collective programmes at venues including SAC, TEA Contemporary Art Biennial, Museo Reina Sofía, La Casa Encendida, Museo del Prado, and Matadero Madrid. She also contributed to the collective publication Polisemias para otros tiempos, edited by Saberes Migrantes and Jiser.
