Octavio Barrera (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 1990) is a furniture designer, multidisciplinary artist, and cultural manager. Since moving to Barcelona in 2010, he developed a strong interest in furniture and handcrafted objects, working primarily with wood and raw materials as defining elements of his practice. He studied at EINA, University School of Design and Art, between 2010 and 2014, and co-founded the independent collective Proyecto Islas Canarias, later Hisla.org, focused on developing projects that explore the popular culture and craft traditions of the Canary Islands.

He currently works from El Hierro as a designer and cultural mediator from his studio-workshop. His work combines professional commissions with personal and creative explorations, developing unique pieces through an approach that bridges contemporary design and traditional craftsmanship.
