Nicolás Laiz Placeres (Arrecife, Lanzarote, 1975) is a visual artist whose work primarily unfolds through painting and sculpture. He holds a degree in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and an MA in Fine Arts from Goldsmiths College, University of London. His work reflects on concepts such as landscape, exoticism, and nature as a cultural, social, and economic construct.

The notion of cultural construction lies at the core of his work, a self-aware process in which making becomes both visible and essential. Each project is conceived as an open field of research. He has exhibited at institutions including MIAC, CAAM, La Regenta, TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes, Cabrera Pinto, and CIC El Almacén.
