Moneiba Lemes Lemes (Machér, Lanzarote, 1986) is a visual artist and educator. Her practice explores painting and contemporary visual culture from a sociological and intertextual perspective, with a focus on the construction of subjectivities and the tensions that emerge between the local and the global. Since 2007 she has developed her work both within Spain and internationally, participating in solo and group exhibitions in key cultural spaces across the Canary Islands. Her projects often address themes such as memory, intimacy and shared imaginaries.

In parallel, she has initiated curatorial projects and produced critical texts that extend her research into collaborative and discursive formats. She is an Assistant Lecturer in the Painting Department at the University of La Laguna, where her teaching and research are closely connected to her artistic practice, approaching both the studio and the classroom as spaces for reflecting on images and their capacity to narrate collective experience.
