José Arturo Martín and Javier Sicilia (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife, 1974 and 1971) have worked together as artists since 1995, forming the collective Martín y Sicilia. Since then, they have built a sustained practice, presenting around 190 exhibitions, both solo and group, in galleries across national and international contexts.
Their work has been shown in galleries such as Nina Menocal (Mexico), Miguel Marcos (Barcelona), m:acontemporary (Berlin), Nara Roesler (São Paulo), Charles Cowles (New York), Apama Strickland (Houston), Paola Verrengia (Italy), and Artizar (La Laguna), as well as in institutions including Casa de América (Madrid), Espai Cuatre (Mallorca), Artium (Vitoria), TEA (Tenerife), Henie Onstad Kunstsenter (Oslo), and Kunsthalle (Darmstadt). They have participated in events such as the Bienal de La Habana, Dakar, Bamako, and Fotonoviembre, and in international art fairs including Art Cologne, ARCO, The Armory Show, Art Platform L.A., Balelatina (Basel), Art Forum Berlín, ArtLima, Expo Chicago, Docks Lyon, FIA Caracas, and Vienna Art Fair.
