Marta Garo (La Perdoma, Tenerife, 1984) is a writer. She grew up in La Perdoma reading Manolito Gafotas and the newspapers her mother sold in the family shop. In 2002, she moved to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to study Translation and Interpreting, a city she fell in love with and continues to return to regularly. After completing her studies, she lived abroad for five years in cities such as Béziers, Düsseldorf, and London.

Upon returning to the Canary Islands, she attended a creative writing course taught by Antonia Molinero at the Canary Islands School of Literary Creation, which led her to further training in workshops with Alexis Ravelo, Almudena Grandes, and Sabina Urraca. Since then, she has developed her literary practice, awakening a vocation that had remained dormant since adolescence. She currently lives in La Laguna and works as a French teacher in public education.
