Laura Mesa Lima (La Orotava, Tenerife, 1975) is a visual artist, lecturer, and researcher at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of La Laguna. She holds a PhD in Fine Arts and a degree in Philosophy. Her interests lie in the relationships between reality and representation through an expanded understanding of drawing, materialized in solid, spatial, and installation-based works. She is currently exploring the tensions between space, nature, and landscape, as well as the fiction of the real.

In works such as Cuerpo que falla, she addresses fragility and vulnerability through precarious balancing structures that evoke contingency and transformation around matter and the body. She has held eight solo exhibitions and participated in around twenty group exhibitions, including Pensar el final compromete el final (SAC), the 1st Contemporary Biennial at TEA, Cuerpo que falla (Galería Artizar), and Here, there, over there (Instituto Cervantes, Prague).
