Arozena

Javier Arozena (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife, 1977) is a curator, performer and stage creator. Between 2022 and 2025 he served as curator of the Public Programme of Live Arts Por Asalto at TEA Tenerife Espacio de las Artes. In 2024 he co-curated, together with Natalia Álvarez Simó, the exhibition This Could Be the Place. Performing the Museum, presented at TEA and at the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Condeduque. In 2025 he began curating and coordinating the Live Arts programme at TEA within the European project P.I.T. (Perform, Inform, Transform), funded by Creative Europe.

Since 2001 he has developed his artistic work as a performer, creator and teacher within national and international companies. He is currently a member of Dance On Ensemble (Berlin) and, since 2019, has co-directed Javier Arozena – la compañía together with Gino Senesi. He received the Best Performer Award at 25MASDANZA in 2020 and the 2024 Barcelona Critics Award for Best Male Dance Performer for VU.
