Israel Jiménez Medina (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 1983) is an artist working in a figurative realist style, specializing in drawing and oil painting. He initially trained at the EASD and later continued his studies at the Faculty of Fine Arts in Pontevedra. His practice is grounded in a solid academic technical foundation, which he has further developed through a self-taught approach over time.
He has developed much of his career in connection with Espacio 48 gallery, bringing his work into private collections in Madrid, the United States, and other international contexts, as well as exhibiting in spaces such as Luego Federica No Era Tonta (Santiago de Compostela). He has taken part in numerous group and solo exhibitions, with his most recent milestone being a solo show at Casa de los Coroneles (Fuerteventura, 2021). His work explores the human figure and its environment through a reflective realism, where academic technique serves as a tool to capture the psychology of the subject and the narrative of light.
