Juan José Martínez Rodríguez (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 1979) and Eduardo Martínez Rodríguez (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 1984) are architects trained at the School of Architecture of Las Palmas. They lead estudioUAD, a research and practice platform whose work occupies a hybrid territory at the intersection of architecture, biopoetics and semiotics within the context of living systems.

Juan José holds a PhD in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Parametric Design and Digital Fabrication, and is a professor of Architectural Design at the School of Architecture of Las Palmas. Eduardo brings international experience in large-scale hospitality architecture across Latin America. estudioUAD’s work has received several awards, including Hotels & Tourism Fitur Awards for Hotel Silken Saaj and Hotel Silken Saaj Maar (2019 and 2025), as well as the IV Miguel Martín-Fernández de la Torre Architecture Award (2025) in the new-build, other uses category for the Employment Office project.
