Marting
Emma Marting (Santa Brígida, Gran Canaria, 1999) is a visual artist. Her work examines how images and spaces construct identities and power relations. Through sculpture, installation, and video, where skin and the body function as central elements, she revisits and exposes the structures and forms of violence embedded within canonical architectures and imaginaries, both historical and contemporary.
She has exhibited at venues including CAAM, Espacio Cultural El Tanque, Sala de Arte Contemporáneo (SAC), and the ULPGC Art Gallery in the Canary Islands; the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp (Belgium); and DiGallery (Seville), among others. Notable highlights include her solo exhibition Soft Bodies (SAC, 2024) and her residency at Centro de Arte La Regenta (2023–2024). Since 2026, she has been represented by DiGallery. As a curator, she co-directed Fade Out: Incomplete Narratives (Fotonoviembre 2021).
