Jane Bach
Emma Jane Bach (San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife, 1996) is a visual artist. She holds a degree in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna, specializing in Painting, and has been based in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria since 2020. Her work addresses psychological and symbolic questions through absorbed figures and fragmented spaces, exploring themes such as liminality, dissociation, nostalgia, memory, and processes of introspection.
Her pictorial practice, generally figurative and situated between painting and illustration, occasionally incorporates references to popular culture and occultism. In her most recent work, she investigates the concepts of ritual, faith, and community, with particular attention to the cultural context of the Canary Islands. She has received awards including the Enrique Lite National Painting Prize and the First Prize at the Las Palmas de Gran Canaria Open-Air Painting Competition.
