Elena Marrero Betancor (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 1986) is a curator and cultural manager, as well as the director of the exhibition project El Palmeral. She holds a degree in Fine Arts and a Master’s in Museology from the University of Granada. She began her professional career at Madrid’s Sorolla Museum, where she specialized in museum practice and the management of cultural projects.

Throughout her career, she has developed a curatorial practice centred on research, mediation, and the promotion of contemporary artists. In 2024, she curated Massive by Yon Bengoechea and Scivias by Adrián Alva at S/T, as well as En el interior de los afuera by Javier Duchement for the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, while also collaborating with Galería MT. In November of the same year, she founded El Palmeral, an exhibition project conceived as a platform for the promotion and support of artists, with a particular focus on the Canary Islands. She currently combines her curatorial practice with her role as president of the Asociación Islas Canarias de Artistas Visuales.
