David Pantaleón (Valleseco, Gran Canaria, 1978) is a filmmaker and audiovisual artist. His work is rooted in the observation and subversion of tradition, the representation of ritual and its ironic interpretation, and a sense of solemnity paired with paradoxical humour that unsettles the everyday. Deeply connected to Canarian culture and landscape, his films transform seemingly ordinary gestures, characters, and situations into extraordinary experiences, open to multiple interpretations and with universal resonance.

Following an extensive career in short films, he made his feature film debut with Rendir los machos (2021), establishing a distinctive, playful, and radically free artistic vision that has gained recognition at national and international film festivals, including Oberhausen and Rotterdam.
