Cristina Toledo Bravo de Laguna (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Gran Canaria, 1986) is a visual artist who graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid in 2009. Her work explores the transformation of the photographic image into painting, conceiving painting as a form of resistance to the contemporary overabundance of visual imagery. Working with images drawn from film, the internet, publications, and family albums, which she develops into series, she addresses themes such as memory, the mystery of the everyday, and the representation of women.

She has exhibited at galleries and institutions in Spain and internationally, including a recent Solo Project at Art Rotterdam 2026 and solo exhibitions at El Almacén (Lanzarote), CCAI (Gijón), and DA2 (Salamanca). Her work has received awards including the A&G and Mardel prizes and is held in public and private collections such as Les Abattoirs (Toulouse) and CAAM in Gran Canaria.
