Carmen Fumero (San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Tenerife, 1988) is a freelance dancer. She develops and researches her own choreographic language through projects created in collaboration with Miguel Zomas and Dácil González, while also working with established contemporary dance companies.
Her work has been presented in Spanish national circuits such as Danza a Escena and the Red de Teatros Alternativos, as well as at international festivals including Jacob’s Pillow (USA), Stray Birds Dance Platform (Taiwan), Yokohama Dance Collection (Japan), and Rendez-vous Chez Nous Festival (Burkina Faso), among others. She has taken part in the Touchpoint Art’s Foundation Mentorship Programme (Budapest), led by Rita Batarita. Her work has received several awards, including First Prize at the Madrid Choreographic Competition (2015), the Acorán Award at MASDANZA (2020), and the Showcase Award at the 4th Stray Birds Dance Platform in Taiwan (2022).
