Belén Santiago (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife, 1992) is a visual artist and painter. Her work unfolds through thematic series that explore ideas such as liquid love, everyday life, and sexual violence, approached from a melancholic perspective. She seeks to reveal the intimate narratives that shape individual identity, inviting reflection on the ordinary and ambiguous moments of daily life.
Through painting and drawing, she creates a narrative figuration that maps her personal environment, where the home appears as a space of introspection and emotional freedom. Influenced by François Bard and horror cinema, she constructs scenes that evoke the supernatural and unease, addressing vulnerability and threat without depicting explicit violence. Her work weaves visual metaphors and musical references to build narratives that reflect on human fragility and the tensions between the intimate and the social.
