Ucar
Alejandra Ucar (Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Tenerife, 2003), also known as Kernel, is a visual artist who graduated in Fine Arts from the University of La Laguna. Her practice spans photography and video, extending into installation. She works with images that emerge as flashes or reflections in the mundane, generating meaning through their relationships with one another, shaped by a digital dimension.
Her work includes explorations of interfaces through audiovisual media, installations incorporating car parts, and correspondences between images in fanzines. She has contributed visuals to sound projects with artists such as Dexonia and Ruiloba, as well as DJ sets at venues such as La Brega. She is currently part of the editorial team of Nexo Magazine (IEHCAN) and develops her practice alongside other artists from the Canary Islands through Fuerte cadena, discovering new ways of working with images.
